As a lover of music and art, and a interpreter of emotions and feelings one of the most important thing when I chose a song or painting is the title . By reading it I want to get the whole meaning of why should I listen to it and why should I buy it. Some titles I have seen or heard are so interesting then a song or painting itself. I prefer that actually more than the ones that does not even come close to the item in hand.
I like to look at title as a brand. We all know that to brand something or someone takes a very long time, a huge sum of money and it legitimises the business. So that comes to the part where people look at you and gives you that kind of respect that you deserve as a brand. So as the title, the look and sound of it should be telling a story about the song. I do not believe in a track that sound like the other only the title has changed.
It is a different story then when it comes to gender, our title are Mr or Mss. This is the combination of who you are and what have you become. This kind of title is not something that you can just quit being called so or rather decide the next day you are not Mr.......... These are by birth been given to us biologicaly. But then we grow up and decided to join venture with some other title then you are now Mrs. But then it only works one side, that is females only. As compared to Prince and princeses too have no choice of changing these titles unless they denounce their birth right. Again we see here that these titles describe where your life began and where is heading to. It has already set aside the king of friends you have and schools you attend. The response you get when you are these title is different as the firs titles.
Now Prof. or Dr, Hnr or Chn. Whatever you are called is what you do not who you are because of education and some kind of honor that you have recieved along your line of work. Of cause you still have a choice of being called Mr. or Mrs if you like.
Unlike our birth right titles the book title is more important to the face of the world than your title in this sence.

Genres
When was the last time you heard something original? I mean a song, poem, movie or a theatre piece that is not a copy of what have been done. During the past 40 years there are artist born in this industry of entertainment, coming in different shapes and sizes. The most exciting part is when all that is original being the list of the media.
I have been in this industry as a singer, dancer, choreographer, a script writer, a translator and a Director. In my experience I have seen more new fresh blood that are much better then what we see and hear from our media. I have auditioned young and old, non talented also and promising artists. Growing up listening to music that was not much labelled as it is now. It depends where in the world you are and your music is categorised.
In early days there were not much genres of music and film as it is now. Now we have more than handful. The same sounds and the melodies are different can be played or recorded by different artist then from there on your geographical origin will play a pert for you to be categorised. If your music is from outside the west then it is world music. No matter how much you can try to fight equality will never be there.
When did doing the copy version of old songs became the in thing? By so doing you are considered the best producer? When did talking became singing? I have a problem listening to the same people everyday, whilst the world has so much to offer. Why is creativity dying when there are so much schools and academies? When will we stop making finance managers our best Judges of the entertainment industry? When will this plastic music and people get out of our faces? Can the media go back to the real world that was and play real music because there is a lot out there that we are over looking. Theatre should bring new things. Shake spear was thee greatest but we need to move on to see something new that is real. The whole world is doing the same thing, stopping the growth of talent but feeding from the old.
If I was a law maker I would cut down all these genre and just call it as it is. Lets get real and promote good stuff because it is good not because it looks nice.

Most of the time I am confronted by daily issues and different personalities thereof. It always takes me back to the stories I have grown to believe and built my faith upon hearing them. Before Christ that is BC, people were known by their names. It grew from a name to be called by their tribes and nations thereafter. People from these times had no sense of changing this into surnames and so on. They were either categorised by the trade or skill they had. And mostly by the man that fathered them. Now the naming of things and situations have taken a huge turn from the beginning of time till now. Significant Godly incident would occur then the place would posses that as its name. This was the foundation of customs of men and the values of tradition. I like what happened before in the garden of Eden. The bible say God paraded everything in front of Adam and he gave name to every single thing. From that time on all the fruits, vegies and birds and animals were named by Adam. He even named the woman.
Everywhere I go I get to learn the names of different people as they come in diverse ethnic groups and religion. Sometimes I hear a name and wonder why does it hurt so much to be called that? But then i get to understand the meaning or the idea of it then console myself that it is OK somehow. I would be lying if I say all names are nice, but that does not change the fact that they are names.
One thing though that a place you have grown as long as you can remember have to change its name because of political reasons. Somehow it does not sit well in my mind that politics have to change the face of history or the very same beliefs we had since the beggining of time, naming of place by whatever happened there, not by honoring so and so who did what somewhere not here, then he/she has to be called by all the streets and airport's and centers.
When you name your child, you are creating a sphere for your child, based on a symbolic meaning that has a lot to do with character. There are names like e.g. "Matlakala" it is a Sotho name for rubish. Does it mean that this child is rubish or rubish happened when concieved or she is the resulf of it? Most kids in school nowadays they change their names that parents gave them and want the name of the superstars or role model. But that is another side of the story. Naming of a place is rather Holy than we think. If we can remeber well, God created heavens and earth and He named it so. He seperated these two. It goes on saying His spirit was hovering in the surface of the earth. He already had a map in his mind and the names of places he wanted to be named. When Moses asked him what should I call you. He said I am who I am. These days scientist have confirmed the study of this DNA particle that they found. It all comes together to the existance of God. I am who I am. That means I am everything and everything is me. So whe we name whatever we are naming we should consider how does it sit in Gods ear.
